You might think I am biased because I have owned 6 river cottages and just love the peace and tranquility that comes as standard, but when I saw Henn's Roost, it just confirmed what I already know – it's a great choice for a vacation. First of all, the location is perfect. Just 10 minutes from Fenelon Falls where you can get just about anything from a fast food fix to a finer dining experience; a great waterside walk, and a good-sized supermarket for those BBQ provisions. The waterside village of Coboconk is nearby too – you have to visit the 'smallest jail in Canada' to get a bit of history. The cottage itself is situated in an idyllic location on the banks of the Burnt River – it has great swimming off the dock (there's a ladder down to a sandy riverbed); a large lawn with a firepit and lawn furniture, and a good sized deck that has a gazebo with patio table and chairs and a BBQ. Inside the newly renovated cottage there are 2 bedrooms and a 4-pce bathroom. The master bedroom has a walkout to the deck. The bunkie has another queen bed. The kitchen, dining and living area is well furnished, and equipped with stainless steel appliances and new furniture. This makes a comfortable space to sit inside when the weather doesn't play nice.
