About This Property

You wise cottage renters out there know just what to look for in a cottage - you want a nice waterfront, a bright, clean interior, plenty of space for your family, lots of sun, peace, quiet and privacy. It would also be nice to have a great kitchen and dining area, wouldn't it? And of course, if a few creature comforts like satellite TV and Internet just happened to be there it wouldn't mean you weren't getting away from it all, right? Well, the Owl's Nest encompasses all of these features...and it's waiting for your family to enjoy. This cottage has four bedrooms and it will comfortably sleep your extended family of up to 8 people. Three of the bedrooms are equipped with queen beds, and for a little more flexibility the fourth bedroom has a double with single bunk over top. Each of the rooms are located in a hallway that overlooks the main living area, which is open concept together with the dining room and kitchen. A brand new deck area welcomes you to the outdoors here, overlooking an expansive lawn and idyllic waterfront. You may simply wish to take in the views of the azure waters and the windswept trees on the island, or you may prefer a more active engagement with the lake. The large property is great for a pickup game of Frisbee or football, and you can cool off in the lake during breaks. Swimming is great for all ages and abilities here, and a generous flotilla of craft enables your group to explore the lake. Adventurous kayakers may want to travel as far as Lorimer lake...but do pack a lunch. The Mckellar area, just east of Parry Sound, is one of our favorites. An abundance of clear lakes, beautiful wooded laneways and small friendly towns are the norm here. Since all this is within just a few minutes drive of Parry Sound, it means you are never far from the comforts and amenities of civilization should you need them. Be sure to take advantage of the special attractions this area offers, whether it be on the cerebral side of things, like museums or the Festival of the Sound, or the more placid, like a Georgian Bay boat cruise.
