Take a superb location; a beautifully furnished cottage; a wealth of activities and attractions in the area, and an outstanding view, and you have the recipe for a vacation that is as relaxed or as active as you could want. We are delighted to offer this property and know it will be popular at any time of the year. There are so many features that make Pier View Cottage a very desirable choice. Let's start with the proximity to Ottawa (1 hour); Montreal (1.75 hours) and the Bridge to USA (10 minutes). This delivers so many options for exploring the St Lawrence area, as well as the opportunity to discover delightful towns and villages in the immediate vicinity. Perfect for cyclists, antique hunters, anglers, birding enthusiasts and those seeking a more relaxed vacation, the property is as ideal for a family group as it is for a group of mature couples taking a break from the city. Pier View overlooks a beautiful part of the St Lawrence where you can watch the huge boats plying the Seaway in the near-distance. Sea birds abound, and the southerly aspect delivers sun on the dock all day. The lawned area leads down to the waterfront that has soft sand and a shallow walkout to the water – great for small kids. Older children will enjoy jumping and diving off the end of the lengthy dock, then swimming out to the 'lighthouse' – a large rock on an island off the shore. The swimming is great from the shoreline, however, Pierview does not have its own sandy beach. The beach pictured is Iroquois Beach near Morrisburg, about 5kms from the cottage. If lazing about is more your idea of an activity, the decks offer plenty of seating for lying back and reading a book, or enjoying an al fresco meal in the shade of the patio umbrella. We could imagine evenings spent on the deck under the stars watching the twinkling lights of ships passing by in the night While most of the summer is likely to be spent outside, the interior of the cottage is equally as inviting and attractive for times spent indoors. The open-plan kitchen and breakfast bar, dining and living area offer a pleasantly furnished space for cooking, eating and movie watching. A gas-log fireplace makes a focal point for cooler evenings while the large screen TV and DVD collection ensures a variety of entertainment. The kitchen is very well-equipped with a variety of small appliances and cooking equipment. Two comfortable bedrooms and a bathroom are off a hallway leading from the living area. On the upper floor the large master bedroom is beautifully decorated and furnished with an ensuite bathroom, while along the short hallway is a delightful sitting/reading nook overlooking the living space and the huge waterside-facing windows. The basement, while not fully finished, is a great spot for teens to play table tennis, board games or just hang out and watch TV.
